For around twenty years, performance was Lee Deokwon’s world.

Through Boomhead, he worked with juggling, physical comedy and live performance, meeting audiences on stages and in public spaces.

The image quality is not the point here.

These are records from a different stage of his life.

Years before Wollyeong, the same person was already standing in front of people, trying to make them laugh, look up and stay a little longer.

After coming to Jeju, another world entered his life.

The sea.

What began as a different environment eventually became another place to work, teach and meet people.

In Jeju, Lee Deokwon also worked as a freediving and scuba diving instructor.

A performer who once guided the attention of an audience was now guiding people into the water.

For someone who spent so many years on stage, the sea somehow feels like another kind of stage.

The setting is different.

The instinct to explore, to share an experience and to be around people is still there.

Today, his everyday place is Wollyeong.

He runs a café in front of Wollyeong Port, meeting people in a completely different setting from the stage or the sea.

Circus performer. Diving instructor. Café owner.

They sound like three very different lives.

But there is one thing that connects them.

People.

The work changed, but he still seems happiest when the people around him are enjoying themselves.
